1. Linnaeus Symposium - New Directions in Taxonomy
To mark the 250th anniversary of the publication, in 1758, of Linnaeus’ Systema Naturae in which binomials were introduced for animal species.

2. Plant Biosecurity
To examine current developments in plant biosecurity in Australia.

Keynote address: Dr Satendra Kumar, Manager, Plant Biosecurity Risk Management, NSW DPI. A state perspective.
Submitted papers on aspects of plant biosecurity are invited

3. Ecosystem Restoration
To examine the role played by invertebrates in ecosystem restoration and recovery.

Keynote address: Professor Jonathan Majer, Curtin University of Technology, Perth

Submitted papers on ecosystem restoration, use of insects as environmental bioindicators or minesite rehabilitation are invited

4. Applied Entomology
Keynote address: to be confirmed
Submitted papers on applied entomological research, including applied aspects of agricultural (both plant and animal), medical and environmental entomology, are invited.

5. Fruit Flies

Keynote address: Rod Turner, CEO Plant Health Australia. Managing fruit flies – A national perspective on a $1b problem
